Irish Chicken in Whiskey Cream Sauce is a comforting one-pot dinner featuring tender chicken simmered in a rich cream sauce flavored with Irish whiskey, garlic, and herbs.

Ingredients

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
¼ cup Irish whiskey
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon fresh thyme or parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • Season chicken with salt and pepper.

  • Heat butter in a skillet and cook chicken until golden on both sides.

  • Remove chicken and sauté onion until soft, then add garlic.

  • Pour in whiskey and simmer 1–2 minutes.

  • Add chicken broth and Dijon mustard and stir.

  • Pour in cream and simmer until sauce thickens.

  • Return chicken to pan and cook 8–10 minutes until tender.

  • Garnish with fresh herbs and serve.

Notes

Allow the whiskey to simmer briefly before adding cream for the best flavor balance.
