½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp brown sugar (optional)
2 large eggs
1½ tsp vanilla extract
½ cup all-purpose flour
¼ tsp salt
½ cup chocolate chips or chunks (optional)
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment.
Melt butter and whisk in cocoa powder.
Add sugars, eggs, and vanilla. Stir until glossy.
Fold in flour and salt, then add chocolate chips.
