These classic chocolate chip cookies are soft, chewy, and loaded with a mix of chocolate chips and chunks for the perfect bite every time.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 3/4 tsp salt

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 1/2 cup chopped chocolate or chocolate chunks

  • Optional: flaky sea salt

Instructions

  • Melt butter and let cool slightly.

  • Whisk together brown sugar, granulated sugar, and melted butter.

  • Add eggs and vanilla. Mix until smooth.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.

  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing until just combined.

  • Fold in chocolate chips and chunks.

  • Chill dough for at least 1 hour.

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment.

  • Scoop dough into 2–3 tbsp balls. Place on baking sheets.

  • Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden. Cool before serving.

Notes

Chill for best texture. Add flaky salt before baking if desired. Use a mix of chocolates for extra depth.
