  • ¾ cup warm milk

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tbsp melted butter

  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley or Italian herbs

  • Pinch of salt

  • Let dough rise 1 hour. Meanwhile, make garlic butter by melting butter and stirring in garlic and herbs.

  • Divide dough into 12 balls. Flatten, fill with cheese, and seal. Place in greased baking dish.

  • Let rise again for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  • Brush with garlic butter. Bake 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.

  • Brush again with garlic butter. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use low-moisture mozzarella to avoid soggy rolls.

  • Freeze unbaked rolls for later baking.

  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy version.
