A simple, cozy dump cake made with tender pears, warm spices, buttery cake mix, and a golden, crumbly topping. Perfect for easy desserts or family-style gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (15 oz each) sliced pears, drained

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • Optional: 1/4 cup brown sugar + 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 baking dish.

  • Layer pears in the pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg, and 2 tbsp brown sugar. Toss gently.

  • Evenly sprinkle cake mix over the pears. Do not stir.

  • Drizzle melted butter over the top, covering as much dry mix as possible.

  • Sprinkle with additional brown sugar and nuts (if using).

  • Bake 45–50 minutes until golden and bubbly.

  • Cool 15 minutes before serving. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Use spice cake mix or add apple slices for variation.

  • Store leftovers covered in the fridge for 3–4 days.

  • Freeze for up to 2 months.
