A simple, cozy dump cake made with tender pears, warm spices, buttery cake mix, and a golden, crumbly topping. Perfect for easy desserts or family-style gatherings.
2 cans (15 oz each) sliced pears, drained
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Optional: 1/4 cup brown sugar + 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 baking dish.
Layer pears in the pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg, and 2 tbsp brown sugar. Toss gently.
Evenly sprinkle cake mix over the pears. Do not stir.
Drizzle melted butter over the top, covering as much dry mix as possible.
Sprinkle with additional brown sugar and nuts (if using).
Bake 45–50 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Cool 15 minutes before serving. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Use spice cake mix or add apple slices for variation.
Store leftovers covered in the fridge for 3–4 days.
Freeze for up to 2 months.
