For the Dough:
1 box (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup warm milk (110°F)
1/2 cup softened butter
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups all-purpose flour
For the Filling:
1/2 cup softened butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
For the Frosting:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch round pans.
Mix yeast, sugar, and warm milk; let it foam.
Mix in pumpkin, butter, egg, salt, and flour to make the dough. Let rise for 1-1.5 hours.
Roll out the dough and spread with filling. Roll up and cut into pieces.
Shape into pumpkins by pinching the top. Let rise for 30 minutes.
