Coffee Talkies are a creamy, coffee-forward no-bake dessert layered with espresso-soaked ladyfingers, mascarpone cream, and a dusting of cocoa—perfect for cozy gatherings or coffee lovers.
1 cup strong brewed espresso or coffee (cooled)
2 tsp sugar (optional, for coffee)
20 ladyfingers (Savoiardi) or sponge cake strips
4 egg yolks
½ cup granulated sugar
8 oz (225g) mascarpone cheese (room temperature)
1 cup heavy whipping cream
Unsweetened cocoa powder or dark chocolate shavings (for garnish)
Brew strong coffee or espresso and let cool. Add sugar if desired.
Whisk egg yolks with sugar until thick and pale.
Fold in mascarpone cheese until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whip cream to soft peaks. Gently fold into mascarpone mixture.
Dip ladyfingers into cooled coffee (1–2 seconds per side).
Layer dipped ladyfingers and cream mixture in serving glasses or dish.
Repeat layers, ending with cream.
Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Dust with cocoa powder or chocolate before serving.
For alcohol kick, add coffee liqueur to espresso.
Use decaf coffee for a kid-friendly or evening dessert.
Swap mascarpone with blended cream cheese + cream if needed.
Store in fridge for up to 4 days.
